September 23, 2018 – Discover Whitewater Series
As a community sponsored event that has only grown in the last five years since its development, this race is fun for the whole family to participate in. “The Discover Whitewater Series, a Half Marathon, 5K, and Fit Kid Shuffle (Kid’s Run) is held annually in Whitewater, Wisconsin every September. The race promotes the City of Whitewater and highlights its greatest features, along with encouraging a healthy lifestyle for people of all ages.” – runwhitewater.com
September 30, 2018 – J-Hawk Latebird Triathlon
Another event held in Whitewater, Wisconsin is the J-Hawk Latebird Triathlon, held at the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater. This is a multisport event including swimming, running, and biking. The categories can be split by age, so kids can participate in a less intense version than the adults. Participants have the option of registering as a team or individually.
October 14, 2018 – Run for Trey
Run for Trey is a classic 5k run that also has a kids run. This event is great for the whole family with plenty of scenery to admire in the Whitewater area.
The final races for fall are in LA Grange, just a 25-minute drive from Delavan Lake Resort. La Grange is a great location for all fall outdoor activities. From bike trails to small-town community events, La Grange has a nice hometown feel.
November 2, 3, 4 2018 – tBunk Endurance Challenge
This event is in dedication to Tom Bunk, who was a known mentor to the community. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Tom Bunk Memorial Fund. The first project planned is a shelter at the Scuppernong trailhead, currently under construction, according to tbunk.blogspot.com. The site also has race locations and registration links.
This race is broken up into three separate days, all of which include their own racing events. On November 2nd are the 200M and 150M trail runs, November 3rd will consist of the 100M run and 50M trail run, and on the final day, November 4th, there will be a 50K trail run. Put your endurance to the test and strive to complete one or more of these challenging races.
