5 Summer Activities for Your Stay at Delavan Lake Resort

Hit the Links!

Delavan Lake Resort guests don’t have to travel far when looking to hit the links, as Delavan has a beautiful yet challenging course, Delbrook Golf Course. The 27-hole public course offers a historic and beautifully-landscaped backdrop from which to play two challenging courses. With four sets of tees sprawled across 6,000 yards of well-groomed greens, Delbrook Golf Course provides the skilled golfer with a challenging experience. It is also the ideal place for those who are less experienced to foster a love of the game.

Historically Fun

Is there a history buff in your group? Take them to tour the Fred B. Jones Estate, just across the lake from Delavan Lake Resort! Built by Frank Lloyd Wright over a three-year period spanning 1900 and 1903, each building on the Fred B. Jones Estate is designed differently. Also known as the Penwern Estate — a Gaelic term meaning “great house” — the property is situated along Delavan Lake and features a main house, boathouse, stable and gatehouse. The living room of the main house, which was built in 1901, faces Delavan Lake. In 1974, the Fred B. Jones Estate was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Water You Wading For?

Just a short drive from Delavan Lake Resort is Lake Geneva, which is known for its gorgeous beaches. The Riviera Beach rests right next to downtown Lake Geneva and the Historic Riviera Ballroom. Cruise the lake on one of the many boat tours offered that set sail from the Riviera Docks. Only a few miles down the shore is Big Foot Beach State Park. This 271-acre park rests on the shores of Geneva Lake and offers many activities such as hiking trails, picnic areas, and boat rentals.

All Aboard!

The East Troy Railroad Museum is putting on Railfest, an event packed with fun for the whole family. From operating railroad cars and trolleys to streetcars, this event is a Railfan’s dream! There’s even face painting, miniature railroad rides, speeder rides, and model railroad building for the kids (or those young at heart). The event is on June 23rd beginning at 10:00 am and is a short 20-minute drive from Delavan Lake Resort.

Zipline – Check!

You can cross ziplining off your bucket list, because just down the road from Delavan Lake Resort is Lake Geneva Canopy Tours. Glide past the trees on a 2-hour guided tour that includes 8 different zip lines, 3 spiral staircases, 5 sky bridges, and a unique “floating” double helix staircase. They also offer a high ropes tour through 16 different obstacles 18 to 32 feet above the ground. Prefer to stay on the ground? Lake Geneva Canopy Tours also has 9 miles of gorgeous hiking and mountain biking trails with varying terrain levels.
